At Camp Verde Unified School District, we're dedicated to supporting every student's success, including providing nutritious meals for all. This year, we're thrilled to introduce a new option: the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This program, offered through the Arizona Department of Education, allows us to offer FREE breakfast and lunch daily to ALL enrolled students, with no application needed. Your participation helps ensure the success of our meal program, benefiting our school, families, and community. For more information, contact Food Service Supervisor Kathie Kopp at 928-567-8025.

Community Update: Appreciation for PECPAF and Continued Support for CVUSD
Dear Community Members,
The Camp Verde Unified School District would like to extend its appreciation to the Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts Foundation (PECPAF), an independent community fundraising organization, for its incredible efforts on behalf of CVUSD’s performance venue. Over the past few years, PECPAF has raised funds to provide a selection of musical instruments and various items for our district’s theatre space, including much-needed updates to the 30+-year-old sound system.
CVUSD is grateful for their generous assistance and wishes them well in their future endeavors.
We would like to assure our community that the district’s educational programs will continue without interruption despite PECPAF’s suspension of operations. The Phillip England Center for the Performing Arts will continue to showcase our district’s wonderful student performers and host our community’s events as scheduled.
For a schedule of events, please visit [campverdeschools.org](http://campverdeschools.org) or download our app by searching for "Camp Verde Cowboys" in your app store.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Camp Verde Unified School District

Dear Parent or Guardian,
We are committed to creating the safest possible environment for our students and staff to learn, work, and grow. In response to the direction of our District Strategic Plan and stakeholder input from our most recent surveys, we would like to share with our community some important information and updates regarding safety measures at our schools.
Previously, our approach to confronting potential threats within our schools relied on a lockdown response. This method has been deemed insufficient by the Department of Education, independent researchers, and law enforcement. Through the direction and support of our Camp Verde Marshall’s Office, we are introducing the ALICE options-based safety strategy. ALICE, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, is widely recognized as one of the most effective safety response strategies in schools nationwide. Not only does ALICE empower individuals to take an active role in their own survival, but it also ensures compliance with federally recommended guidelines.
CVUSD staff are currently undergoing training in ALICE protocols. This training will be ongoing as we strive to implement these strategies in ways that are appropriate for different age groups and abilities.
As stakeholders in our community and representatives of our students we would like to make you aware of this process and its implementation. We encourage you to explore more about the ALICE strategies through the following link: ALICE Training Information
As our staff becomes proficient in these strategies, we will also be educating your students about the ALICE protocols. We understand that discussions around safety can sometimes be challenging for students. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you feel your student may require specific support during these trainings, please reach out to your student’s teacher or administrator.
Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring the safety and well-being of our school community.
Sincerely,
Steve Hicks
