THE CAMP VERDE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 28 GOVERNING BOARD MAY VOTE TO CONVENE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION WHICH SHALL NOT BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC PURSUANT TO A.R.S. §38-431.03(A)(3) FOR LEGAL ADVICE FROM THE DISTRICT’S ATTORNEY(S) ON ANY MATTER ON THIS AGENDA.  THE DISTRICT’S ATTORNEY(S) MAY APPEAR TELEPHONICALLY.

8.         POTENTIAL ACTION ON PERSONNEL MATTERS

            A.         Minutes taken during Regular Board Meeting on November 11, 2022

11.      POTENTIAL ACTION ON THE CONSENT AGENDA                         

Consent items are used as a time-saving device when there are certain items on the agenda which are unlikely to require extensive discussion by the Board and are ministerial in nature.  Public bodies often take one vote to approve or disapprove of the consent agenda as a whole.  Any matter on the consent agenda will be removed from the consent agenda and discussed as a regular agenda item upon the request of any Board member.  Documentation concerning the matters on the consent agenda is available from the District Office.

A. Potential approval of a donation of a keyboard to the CVHS Music Club from Mr. and Mrs. Alex James

B. Potential approval of Out of State Travel for the High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) club members to travel to the Next Generation FFA  Conference from February 28 through March 3, 2023, in Denver Colorado

C. Potential approval of a donation to Elementary Teacher Heather Gilman from the Fiesta Bowl in the amount of $2,500.00

D. Potential approval of donation to Teacher Heather Gillman from    DonorsChoose in the amount of $ 190.00

E. Potential approval of seven donations from APS supply my classroom awards       in the amount of $ 500.00 each to Elementary Teachers Sandra Owens, Kristen Mezulis, Victoria Ligon, Jessica Beaman, Rolande Lebourveau-Karn,  Debra Justus, and LaToya Lewy

 

12.       DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS

A.      Yavapai County Superintendent Tim Carter will swear in newly elected Board Members Sharon Petrie and Maraya Oothoudt to begin term January 2023- December 2027.

B.       Discussion, presentation, and possible action to accept the Second Budget Revision for Fiscal Year 2023.

C.       Camp Verde High School administration to propose a High School Lunch Detention Monitor for Board consideration.

D.       Discussion and possible approval of the unrevised Return to Learn Plan 2022-2023  

E.       Discussion and possible action to approve Board Goals for 2023-2024:

          1.          With the goal of fostering mutual understanding and improved  collaboration, the Camp Verde Unified School District Board will:

                       a.    Ensure they regularly visit the schools and are present at a variety of school functions.

                       b.     Find the time to communicate with the superintendent before each board meeting and as needs or questions arise.

                       c.     Engage in district communication by means of their chosen social media platforms: email, voicemail, text messaging, Facebook, webpage live feed, and/or other.

          2.          Provide a progressive technological infrastructure that supports all instruction and administrative needs.

F.       Discussion and possible action to set a Work Session in January of 2023 for the purposes of receiving further information on the Ancillary Salary Schedule and the proposed changes to Staff (GCD) PTO & (GCCA) Sick Leave Policies

When necessary, the Board may go into Executive Session intermittently throughout the meeting for discussion and consultation for legal advice regarding any of the agenda items. A.R.S. 38-431.03 (A)(3). The Board may also go into Executive session to discuss personnel matters A.R.S. 431.03 (A)(1), records exempt from public inspection A.R. S. 38-431 (A)(2), or legal advice and consultation regarding contracts, negation or pending or contemplated litigation A.R.S. 38-431.03 (A)(4). Finally, the Board reserves the right to change the order of items on the Agenda and to call matters in random order.
